Learn more about Spring Hill Hospital

For all of you interested in learning more about the proposed Spring Hill Hospital, I would like to pass along an email that I have received...

Dear Neighbor,

I would personally like to invite you to attend the Town Hall meeting hosted by TriStar at the UAW Hall on Tuesday April 25th from 5:30 - 7:00 PM . They will share information on the proposed Hospital and solicit the Community's feedback on this very critical service and component of our "Quality of Life" in Spring Hill. TriStar values your opinion and wants to be sure you have an opportunity to learn about TriStar Health System's proposed full-service Hospital for Spring Hill. Please mark your calendar, attend, and bring your friends. Also, feel free to forward this invite to your friends.

Respectfully,

Mayor Danny Leverette

City of Spring Hill

I look forward to seeing all of you there!

I hope a large number of citizens of Spring Hill as well as the surrounding area will turn out for the meetings to hear the presentation about the proposed hospital for Spring Hill. This is an opportunity for the citizens of the area to have additional health care opportunities.
I do not believe anyone showing support for the new hospital has any desire to harm or disrupt the services of either Maury Regional or Williamson Medical. TriStar has only proposed a 56 bed hospital. The small impact that this will have on either of the existing hospitals should be minimum. The new hospital would however be a golden chance for the people of the area to have emergency care and other basic hospital services closer to our homes. Most of the citizens of the area will continue to see their existing health care providers and will not change just because there is a new hsopital. This will give people the opportunity to decide for themselves. I believe that TriStar's new hsopital will have a greater impact on the providers of healthcare in Nashville than it will on Maury Regional or Williamson Medical. A large segment of the residents of Maury and Williamson county already go to Nashville for their healtcare.
As far as the recruitment of employees, with the unemployment rates we have in Maury County it would be hard to believe that we cannot find and train people to enter the medical fields.
I ask the legislators and government officials of Maury County to change course and support the TriStar proposal. TriStar is wanting to bring additional medical care to the community as well as new investment and additional jobs. This same investment will add to the tax base of Maury County and could also have positive benefits for our school system. This is a company wanting to come into our community and they are not asking for all of the tax breaks we normally have to give out.
Those who support the existing fine hospitals will certainly have the right to continue using them but I ask that they do not deny giving their fellow neighbors the right to support the new hospital. This is our opportunity to have an additional provider of services closer to home. I am sure the residents of Columbia and Franklin are glad they have local hospital access. The residents of Spring Hill are no different in desiring the same.

If the County Commission can give WR GRACE a tax break then surely if the CON is approved they will also give Tristar the same tax break.
