Spring Hill Hospital Opposition
Are we to believe that Maury Regional Hospital really does not see a need for a hospital in Spring Hill? A city of soon to be over 45,000 people is expected to drive half an hour in either direction for medical care, especially emergency medical care? In a life of death situation, it could take almost that long for an ambulance to arrive, much less get you to a hospital.
If Maury Regional Hospital has not been looking for the last 10 years to put an extension here in Spring Hill, I would consider that a HUGE financial mistake. Other than losing FUTURE business at Maury Regional, I do not see this as anything but a HUGE need for Spring Hill. I will be very interested to watch this develop as the days continue.

Interestingly enough... living in Spring Hill for the past 3 years I have never considered Maury Regional Hospital. If I have to drive 30 mins or more for care, I've headed north... so they aren't losing my "business" nor did they have the chance to earn it. I am happy to have health and emergency care coming close by.
Note to Williamson Medical Center:
Before you oppose the CON request by TriStar by stating that the people of southern Williamson County already have adequate emergency hospital care, consider that it took me 50 minutes to drive from Spring Hill to the highway 96 exit on interstate 65 this morning (left Spring Hill at 7:15 AM).
So what is the average "Joe Citizen" supposed to do to support this hospital? Our support fell on deaf ears at the commission level...the opposition is getting organized. As a mother of four young children as well as retired parents in this area, I can certainly see my family needing emergency room/hospital care in the next 20 years. I have nothing against MRH or WMC (actually have used both at some point in my life) just would rather have the services closer.
If you want to help us get this hospital, a few things would be in order. First of all, contact any elected official that you can think of to let them know how you feel. I would advise writing letters, email, and phone calls. In the very near future you will see us put together a plan to assist the city and Tri-Star in gathering citizen support.
Send an email to "the gorilla" to sign up to help once this new campaign begins. In the very near future (once re-apportionment has been dealt with by the city) we will change over the www.unitespringhill.com website to be a portal into the Spring Hill Hospital campaign.
Start telling your neighbors to read this site and get ready to become involved. I am sure that there will be a massive petition drive and we will need all the help that we can get!
Send us an email if you want to get in on the ground floor of improving our city!
Columbia City Council rejects HCA hospital
"Gentner said although he had received more e-mails supporting HCA’s facility, he felt there were too many negatives. But, he said, it is important that Maury Regional expand to help the people in the area."
Huh?
Friday night, 7:40pm. MY son has a bad cough that doesn't let up.
My wife drives over to the Maury Regional Clinic in Spring Hill.
Maury Regional is supporting Spring Hill so well, that they close their clinic at 6pm on Friday nights.
Thanks MRH, your support of this community is noted and will NOT be forgotten, especially when you FIGHT a 24hr Emergency room for Spring Hill but can't even keep your clinic open past 6pm on a weekend night.

Sounds like MRH has recruited Paige Kisber of Hospital Alliance TN to do its bidding:
"If you pull off the more paying patients (sic), then you don't have the ability to cost shift in order to pay for the less profitable services."
I wonder where Tricare US Military Veteran Benefits falls into the equation as MRH doesn't seem to be a provider:

Notice that all of the TriStar Hospitals are all on the list.
Maury Regional Hospital, the greedy power yielding mid-Maury County Hospital is finally in financial difficulties. It will be interesting to see how the "Maury Wizards" handle this one with their political house in difficulty and the good ole boy system under attack. They are down to green ribbons on trees. Could this be a symbol for the money they are to loose when competition finally arrives or could it be the last green sprig on a dying tree?
About time for the Maury County Empire to crack and crumble.
Maury County citizens hold on to your wallets county taxes are going to soar to fund MRH with tax dollars.

Hippocrates Reminds Maury Countians: “First, Do No Harm!”
From The Daily Herald story created Apr 26, 2006 - 16:36:09 EDT.
Spring Hill resident Chandler Anderson asked Kloess specific questions
regarding ambulance services the new hospital would provide, which
insurance would be offered for nurses and concerns regarding the lack of
a specialized heart unit at the proposed hospital.
Kloess said TriStar would establish a "fully-staffed medical staff and
expand services as needed."
Anderson identified himself as a nurse, but said "I probably shouldn't
tell you," when asked where he is employed.
Is this the same person who is clinical coordinator of radiology at Williamson Medical Center? (615) 435-5000
I never considered Maury Regional Hospital to be part of the Spring Hill Community..... If i need help i make the 25 to 30 min drive to Williamson County.... I do not head south for anything anymore.
Columbia is becoming very rundown.... Honestly this is all about Money
Someone is afraid they lose their slice of the pie $$$.
This is not about the care of the people of Spring Hill.
How can they speak for the residents’ of Spring Hill when they do not live in Spring Hill?
I do not concern myself with what goes on in Columbia.. I don’t live there... Im a Spring Hill Resident.. And that’s where my money goes.
