Interesting Timing

Well, it looks like Williamson Medical and Senior Health Inc. are looking to place a psychiatric hospital in Thompson's Station.
A Hospital in Thompson's Station?

"It comes up, literally, in the middle of debate between some in Spring Hill who want more accessible health care and others in Franklin who say it will cost Williamson Medical Center patients and income."

Interesting timing.

If I recall correctly, wasn't this CON rejected by the HSDA in the Fall of '05? I guess that a year and a change of location to the quickly growing area of Thompson's Station and Spring Hill can make a world of difference? I wonder why Williamson Medical would support this...it would supposedly create duplication of services and would cripple the Vandy Psych. Department?

Interesting timing.

more false garbage on this page. At no point does this article mention an association with WMC.

Oh, and Jerry Sharber's involvement and presence at the meeting would be coincidental?

GREAT NEWS!!!

Soon, if a pysch hospital comes to Thompson Station, Chandler and Mr.Otwell can apply for jobs there as dance teachers, arts and crafts directors and so on.

What is even better is that when all of the Spring Hill folks who have made such fools of themselves charging that they need a hospital become depressed next Wednesday, they will eventually have somewhere to go for treatment. Can't you all read the writing on the wall? The Department of Health stated that the hospital in Spring Hill is not needed. Tomorrow Melanie Hill's staff's analysis will be released and it will say the same thing. What will you all do when this is over and the hospital is turned down? How will you cope, because you have gotten so wrapped up in this campaign that it seems that it has consumed many of you?

Again, WMC is not in anyway involved in this hospital. The only involvement they have had with this company is last year when they were going to allow this company to build on their land. Think about this... Vandy is one of a few major psych hospitals in town. They are CONSTANTLY on diversion. People are turned away left and right. There is a HUGE NEED for a psych hospital in Middle TN. Guess what, the board denied the hospital. Why? Because Vandy protested it. Think about that as you run through town this weekend petitions in hand. Look at all the medical entities that are protesting this hospital. You can bus all the folks you want to the meeting. That will do nothing but annoy the board. Just ask the Brentwood folks. A lot of people are in for a rude awakening on Wednesday, and the board is trying to give hints in the papers. Read them very carefully and you will see that a surplus of 150 plus beds is a bad thing when you claim there is no access to care.

What will you do if it is approved?

SAY WHAT?

How can you build a psych hospital without a cardiac cath lab? I mean, even emotionally challenged people have MI's too. Oh the insensitivity!

But do not let your heart be troubled; there's only a 2 in 7 chance Williamson Medical's ER will be on diversion when you need it. Besides, I-65 is only a parking lot 6 out of every 24 hours of each day so you also have only a 1 in 4 chance of dying in the Ambulance while sitting in traffic at Peytonsville Rd.

Reading the posts from these C4C Koolaid drinkers is enough to make anyone need to pop some Prozac or want to hang themselves!

About that HUGE NEED for a psych hospital; as many in the C4C cabal have departed from the blissful shores of reality, perhaps this is not a misguided suggestion after all.

ANON. @ 19:13

This statement by Melanie Hill "....But it's not a popularity contest. It's based on criteria of need, economic development and orderly development....." All of which will be very well demonstrated in the CON being presented on Wednesday 07/26/2006.

The HSDA makes these tough decisions regularly and not being concerned with popularity of the citizens affected comes with the decision.

However, Melanie Hill also states,"Certainly this one (CON) has generated quite a bit more interest than others."

So, I would venture to speculate that she is referring to all the rhetoric being spewed by various entities and is putting them on notice that the decision will be based on the three criteria as required.

Which dosen't bode well for the opposition.

This doesn't bode well for the OPPOSITION? Did you say OPPOSITION? They are going to look at the demographics of Spring Hill and how you all are not using the services that you currently have, AKA EMS and the Urgent Care Clinic. The popularity statement is referring to the pancake breakfasts and the petitions. Do you not get it?

I cannot wait until we see your comments on Thursday when you are turned down. Can't you see the writing on the freakin wall? The Department of Health has stated that this hospital is not needed. They are not attached to MRH, WMC, or TriStar. As well the report that is out tomorrow says the same thing. I hope you all come on a big red bus Wednesday because it seems that is what it is going to take to get you all to see that the hype comments are referring to you all. MRH and WMC did not do rallies against it, they do not have yard signs, they did not form Spring Hill Citizens against this hospital. OPEN YOUR EYES. Mel is talking about the PROPONENTS of this hospital!! My God are you really that oblivious?

If you are so confident in the denial by the HSDA board, why don't you let the numbers speak for themself? Isn't that WMC's argument?

According to Gooch, the growth numbers for Spring Hill are 'inflated and based on incorrect assumptions'.

Here's the numbers WMC would have you believe:
There will be 9,900 people in Spring Hill in 2010.

O yeah, remember these numbers:
6-3-1

What about these numbers? 14-5?
Here are the numbers you are gonna need, 911, because as far out there as you guys are (I mean do you even get the paper?) you may jump out the window due to the overwhelming realization that you have wasted three months of your time working to get this hospital.

Check out what Chandler said on his site www.theothersideoftheissue.com

He actually makes some points that you oughta think about.
