Millions

This from the Williamson AM this morning:

Cost of hospital appeals 'will be significant'

"The cost will be significant," Brogden said. "I'd rather not speculate on the cost, but we have had cases that were in the millions of dollars. And this is a complicated case."

How much is this really going to cost MRH and WMC? How many services could be added or improved upon with the 'Millions of Dollars' that this futile appeal is going to cost?

Here's a few that I came up with:
1. A fully staffed and equiped NICU Unit for WMC and MRH (at $50,000 a bed that WMC relies on private donations to support)

2. A fully functional Cath Lab

3. A 128 or 256 slice CT Scan

4. A fully funded Foundation for WMC

Any of thing about this rub you the wrong way?

Call your county commissioners:
County Commissioner Judy Hayes (Williamson): 615-794-5380
County Commissioner Clyde Lynch (Williamson): 615-368-7870
County Commissioner Gwynne Evans (Maury): 931-486-2848
County Commissioner Bob Farmer (Maury): ?????

If this was such a cut and dry issue, why would he have referred to it as a complicated case?

Obviously nothing else in going on in Spring Hill but this hospital.

The Board of Directors of MRH and whoever has decided to appeal this super-majority decision in favor of Spring Hill Hospital should all be fired or made to pay for this loosing appeal out of their own pockets.

The same goes for the less than anonymous bunch supporting WMC joining this appeal.

What an awful waste of OUR hard earned tax money.

These tight wades that vote to use OUR money would not even spend $100.00 of their own pursuing this!

And fire the administrators of these county owned hospitals, THEY WORK FOR US!

One little question: How many County Commssioners or anyone in their family, if any, get free health care from MRH or WMC.

Do any of themget any golf outings, fancy meals, Titans tickets or other perks paid for with our tax dollars?

Hey media, do your job and check into this, please.

I thought that you numbers from a few weeks ago were absurd. Now I see that not only are you correct, but I see why Williamson is trying to let this go away.

I live in Franklin, and now I see that Williamson Medical and Maury Regional are out to lunch. They are so blinded by this thing that they are losing control. Amazing!

This appeal, by MRH and WMC, is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, waste of tax dollars in Middle Tennessee history.

Waste it is, one almost wonders if there is any corruption?

No of course not.

All this hospital stuff is politics and we know there is never any corruption involved in anything political.

It is quite possible that someone besides this Chandler has questions about your motives for continuing to drag this issue through the mud. Are we to expect the same from this site until next Spring? I would ask the same questions regarding kickbacks of the Spring Hill officials and TriStar.

I have a question regarding this hospital. Will this hospital not be built by 2010 regardless of this set back? Also what happens if some one is elected to government that opposes this hospital. Will it be stalled? Let's say that this appeal turns out favorable for the existing hospitals. What becomes of the land then? It is in a prime location, and on the off chance that this appeal is won, I would hate to see this land go to waste.

Do you really think it would be that tough to find another buyer for that property? Buying that land prior to the CON was a no risk investment, win or lose on the CON.

Dear Spring Hill Hospital Blog;

What else is going on in Spring Hill? A city growing this fast should have other issues also.

All the things listed sound like excellent investments. Maybe TriStar could buy them and put them in their hospital since Maury and Williamson already have them, and the plans for the new hospital do not include them.

So... what is happening in Spring Hill besides the Hospital Issue? This used to be a great place to get information on community developments, but lately it's been dead.

I see on the BOMA agenda that there was supposed to be a vote on the Ambulance service... what happened with that. Awarding a contract for sidewalk construction... how'd that go. What's going on with the Super Target? Port Royal Kroger? City Parks (is there a park being constructed south of Lowes? If so, when is it going to open?)

Basically, what's going on? Surely there's more to talk about than an appeal that won't be heard until April 07.
