Here is an article from the advertiser news. Please take this opportunity to visit on of our GREAT historical sites (Oaklawn) and get a chance to meet the candidates running for office in this election. This really should not be missed!

Also, at some point today I will post the video from last night's Mayoral debate moderated by Dustin Dunbar. Remember that name for future elections!

See you tonight!

Open House at Oaklawn for City Election Candidates

From Staff Reports The Advertiser News

Ron Shuff, a Spring Hill property owner, is hosting an open house at the historic Oaklawn plantation from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1.

He invites all mayoral candidates, alderman candidates and area residents to attend. Light refreshments will be served and Jimmy Campbell, the property manager, will share history and tours of the home.

Oaklawn, located on Denning Lane, was built by Absalom Thompson in 1835. According to the Middle Tennessee Visitors Bureau, Confederate General John Bell Hood established his command post at Oaklawn in 1864.

“We hope all mayoral and alderman candidates can come,” Shuff said. “It’s an opportunity to meet and greet with them and talk to them on a personal level. It’s also an opportunity for people who have not seen Oaklawn to come have a tour.”

Ron Shuff, a Franklin resident, said he believes all Spring Hill property owners should have a keen interest in the city election. Oaklawn is located at 3331 Denning Lane, off Kedron Road.
